Giving your clients a closing gift should be a must after the transaction is complete. It shows your appreciation of them intrusting you with one of the hardest decision they had to make. Closing gifts doesn’t have to be extravagant but a small gesture of appreciation is enough. This is turn will leave a great impression in your clients eyes that hopefully will turn into leads or clients. Don’t be lazy, personally handing the gifts shows your clients the personal service and going that extra mile. Wait one to two weeks, though difficult for some to do, can be a valuable marketing strategy. It also gives you an excuse to see how they’ve settled in there new home.

Any Gift can look distinctive if it is arranged in a special way. Since gifts are an expression of self-individuality; your gift should reflect your image and personality. Everything should be carefully evaluated from the selection of the packaging to the card chosen: everything should be in sync.

Even if you have budget constraints; your gift should never look frugal and should not undermine the goodwill which you are intending to create with it.

Do not choose the same gift for everyone. “One size fits all” does not work when it comes to building relationships. Find out their like and dislike using your listening skills while showing house to them. Did they show an interest in contemporary décor, or early American, or colonial? Do they have pets? Are they very religious? Are they first time buyers? Do they have little children, if yes, what age?? Did they seem “tech- nuts”? Are they food connoisseurs? Are they wine lover? Do they love to golf? Do they love gardening?

Finding a “signature gift” that fits everyone can be difficult; but taking the time to investigate about the recipient’s preference and then using that information to guide in your selection of gift giving; will more than pay off in the end!

It doesn’t matter how much is spend on a gift, it only matters whether the gift is useful, practical, and fits the lifestyle of the recipient!!

Make sure you give a closing gift with every transaction closed should be part of your process.
